Remember the $1.9 billion Covid bill that had Pakistani human rights inserted in to it? Well, here’s the Department of State’s official request for proposals.
The US Department of State is now seeking proposals to support Pakistani human rights programs. Big surprise here. “U.S. human rights and democracy assistance will contribute to a stable Pakistan by promoting governance based on democratic principles, respect for human rights, and peaceful coexistence. It will also provide for the protection of, and advocacy for, the rights of the most vulnerable, including youth, women, religious and ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities, and LGBTQI persons, as well as mitigate the impact of conflict on Pakistani communities.” Companies are invited to bid on taking charge of these programs for 2 year contracts. But the question is: where is the money really going? Is a company going to take the money from the Federal Government and actually spend the money in Pakistan?
To promote Pakistani Women’s Rights in marriage, a total of $1,000,000 – $1,500,000 over 2 years will be granted to the organization that successfully wins the bid. And that’s just one of the programs. What could $1,000,000 do for domestic violence victims right here in the US? What if we took the $750,000 that we are granting to the bid winner to protect “marginalized populations” in Pakistan and put that toward domestic LGBTQI programs right here at home?
It has begun- not only are our rights being diminished, but our government is now looking to lend a helping and to the world using you and me as the cash cow to fund whatever corporations in the name of social justice. It will be interesting to find out what companies win these bids, who is in those corporations, and who they have ties to in Congress. If you seriously believe our government really gives a rat’s ass about Pakistani women, then I have beachfront property in New Mexico I’d like to sell you.
